The South Tyrolean mountaineer and actor Luis Trenker first became a major star of German cinema under Goebbels and Hitler. At the end of the war, his career as a public favorite is almost over. But as a well-known man, he gets to know the ambitious, young expressionist Leni Riefenstahl during filming and in love. In the following years, however, an artistic power struggle unfolds between the two rival filmmakers.
