Beautiful film, half sad and half creepy, with three very effective central roles and beautifully atmospheric camera work by Chris Menges and Scott himself. Hard to imagine that the director of this later ended up in Hollywood making pulps like Top gun and Days of thunder (but also super action films like Enemy of the state[ /i] and [i]Déjà vu).

The Dual format edition that my predecessor mentions also contains Tony Scott's short film One of the missing (27 minutes) from 1968 as well as Ridley Scott's short film [i]Boy and bicycle[ /i] from 1965 (28 minutes) starring brother Tony; Neither film is really great, but of course interesting for the enthusiast. Ridley's film can also currently be found on YouTube.

The late director Tony Scott put together this short film with very little financial resources, but his contribution is almost unrecognizable when you place it next to his later work. In terms of content, it has much deeper layers and in terms of concept it looks very original, but most minutes are spent on the psychological snapshot of a very uninteresting Rosamund Greenwood. I was amazed to see how that person could listen to her own nonsense with such interest, let alone how I could do that as a viewer. Scott adds a rich amount of detail to the background, but the cinematic progression was truly unbearable for me. When the end came, I have rarely moved my mouse so quickly to the cross on my internet page.
