Four stories that come together about drug addiction, poverty and life at the bottom of society. Manny works as a security guard in a boarding house by day and as a shop assistant in a convenience store at night among hookers and dealers while his wife takes care of their sick child at home. 10-year-old Willy lives with his sister with their mother and her abusive boyfriend. He has to beg to feed him and his sister. Marybeth is a transsexual who works as a prostitute and lives with Benny to whom she is married. They live a pretty normal life but are seen as freaks by everyone. Romeo is in a gang terrorizing the streets with his guilt over his brother's death.
