Liebe ohne Illusion plot

Walter (Curd Jürgens), a war wounded whose arm has been amputated, returns from the war, but is no longer able to find his place in civil society. The unemployed veteran is bored to death, while his wife, on the other hand, is very busy with her work in the hospital. He starts something with his younger sister-in-law, which makes a divorce almost inevitable.
