Les Hors-la-Loi plot
The French government introduced its own structures during the conquest of its new colony (1830-1857), but it was not possible to simply replace the honorary law in Algeria with Napoleonic legislation. As a result, 'bandits of honour' arise, whose exploits are told in this film. They find themselves in a paradoxical situation. The French legal system treats them as criminals, but the population sees them as heroes.
