Le Voyageur sans Bagage plot

At the end of the First World War, a veteran is found. He can no longer remember anything, he does not even know who he is or was anymore, and is placed in a psychiatric hospital, where the Duchess Dupont-Dufort takes care of him and he is given the name Gaston. It even organizes meetings with families who believe they recognize the patients suffering from amnesia. The Renaud family says they recognize Gaston as “Jacques”. When Gaston learns of the past that belongs to Jacques -Jacques was a violent child, a womanizer with no respect for his family- he wonders if he really wanted to be that Jacques.
