Le Roman d'un Truqueur plot

In an editing room, a man sets up a reel to watch a film. The image appears on a small screen, the man disappears and the story begins. The viewer is drawn into the world of the Ministry of the Seventh Art or rather the Bureau of Unsolvable Affairs. What's hidden in the enigmatic film reels? The person responsible for clarifying the matter is Edouard Langlois, an obscure little official from this venerable house. He conducts the investigation.
