Le Jugement de Dieu plot
Bavaria, 1433. State policy indicates that Prince Albert must marry Princess Bertha of Württemberg. Completely against his will he leaves, on the orders of his authoritarian father Duke Ernest, for Württemberg together with his loyal friend Count Törring. During a stop in Augsburg, he falls in love with the beautiful Agnès Bernauer, daughter of the local barber. They decide to marry in secret and take refuge in the castle of Albert's aunt, Marchioness Josepha. When Albert's father hears the news, he does not accept the marriage. Disappointed, Albert decides to declare war against his father. And with success, it seems. Albert's brother Enrique, a monk, throws a spanner in the works when he accuses Agnès of witchcraft.
