Le Destin Exécrable de Guillemette Babin plot
In the sixteenth century, during a stormy night in a modest house, surrounded by magical symbols, the witch Radegonde gives birth to a daughter whom she calls Guillemette. Twenty years later, the latter is accused of witchcraft. Questioned by judges, she confesses to her crimes. She tells how, when she was a child, she felt called by the devil, and one day while she was picking fruit in the fields, she was introduced to black magic by an old strange woman. Very young, she lost her mother, who was lynched by the angry mob who believed she was a witch. She fought the demon with the help of religion, but the evil spirit was too strong for her. And then she confesses what she had experienced in her young life.
