Le Combat de Reines plot

After years of absence, Julie (Pascale Rocard) returns to her native Valais in Switzerland, determined to achieve what her father never managed to do: defeat arch-rival Trèsprospère (Jean-Marc Bory) in the 'battle of the queens', a local tradition in which cattle breeders have their best cows (of the Hérens breed) fight against each other. She doesn't want to leave anything to chance and she buys a cow that has never been beaten until then. But a few days later the cow is dead and Julie is convinced that this is no coincidence.
