Laut Bercermin plot
Pakis sits in the middle of a floating village, waiting for her father, who just hasn't returned from fishing one day. The other children say he is dead, but Pakis refuses to believe this. Instead, she looks for the truth in a small mirror her father once gave. Pakis is full of hope that one day he will return and she cannot forget his stories about the wind and the sea. Because she lies awake at night, she nods at school during the day. As a sign of mourning, her mother has painted her face white and Pakis reprimands her for giving up on her father. But in reality, she's just trying to get on with normal life, despite her loss. One day, a young man, a dolphin researcher from Jakarta, arrives at their settlement. He moves into Pakis' father's hut...
