Last of the Good Guys plot

Johnny Lucas (Dennis Dugan) has only just become a cop when he has to take the place of longtime veteran Frank O'Malley (Larry Hagman). When Frank dies, Johnny realizes that his widow Lill (Marlyn Mason) will never receive his full pension. So, along with his colleagues Marv Pulaski (Ji-Tu Cumbuka), George Talltree (Hampton Fancher), and Tash Namaguchi (Richard Narita), he tries to convince conventional sergeant Nichols (Robert Culp), who does everything by the book, that Frank still alive.
