La Strada Finisce sul Fiume plot

The American journalist Barbara goes to Italy to interview the most notorious criminal Role. She is under the impression that Rol is some kind of modern-day Robin Hood. Through local contacts and friends Barbara manages to meet him, but she must conclude that Rol is a very clumsy and violent bandit. The police have leaked about this interview and they are about to arrest Rol, but he takes Barbara hostage and manages to flee with her to a remote farm. In addition to Barbara, Rol also torments the farming family and they seem to be facing a terrible night.
