La Passante du Sans-Souci plot

Berlin, 1933. Elsa and Michel Wiener take in a twelve-year-old Jewish boy whose father was murdered by the SA. Just to be sure, Michel sends his wife and foster son to Paris, but he himself stays in Germany, where he eventually ends up in a concentration camp. When Elsa finds out about this, she does everything she can to get him out.
