It looks like twenty-year-old Angèle will become the first female veterinarian after the war. She is the object of rivalry between her betrothed, a scrupulous industrialist and a simple man who lives in the mountains near wolves. Angèle seizes the opportunity to achieve her true goal: to save the wolves.

Adventurous (family) film about people and animals.
How simple, but still a film where affection and love transcends an unscrupulous pursuit of profit.
Already at the beginning of the film, the emphasis is on profiting from war situations while fellow human beings suffer in every way.
Still, hard images of injured or killed animals, but I hope that the recordings were done serenely anyway, and that is likely the case.

This film really reminded me of a director like Terry Gilliam or the Jeunet brothers. They would have turned this story into a very special and beautifully designed film. The elements for such a film were there. But none of that came out in this film. The story remained very flat and confused and was never really well developed. And so it was actually all just nothing, despite the fact that it looked nice and the acting was quite reasonable.

Quite a few harsh and brutal images of animal suffering, even if it is only film... you know that people do everything for profit. Beautiful images of nature, although it sometimes seems that they are also images of sets. Laetitia Casta plays her role well, but is unbelievable in her role in terms of age. 6/10
