La Dernière Partie plot

Christophe Maquet will soon be awarded the decoration of the Legion of Honour. This has great significance for this lawyer, son of a simple labourer. But then he learns that his seriously ill father, from whom he has been estranged for years, has decided to commit euthanasia on the day of the award ceremony. Though upset, Christophe secretly suspects his father of deliberately depriving him of his glory day. He then decides to spend only a few days with his father in an attempt at a final reconciliation.
