L'Autre Monde plot

Yasmine, a Frenchwoman of Algerian descent, works in Paris at a law firm and is about to marry her boyfriend Rachid, a successful computer programmer. Then, for no reason at all, Rachid is suddenly gone. Yasmine gets one more message from him, in which he tells her that he has left for Algeria and is in the army there. Yasmine decides to look for Rachid in Algeria, a country she barely knows, the language she doesn't speak, and which is torn by civil war. In the capital there is not much to notice, but when Yasmine travels inland, to the barracks where Rachid is stationed, she enters another world.
