L'Affaire du Courrier de Lyon plot

"The Dreyfus Affair of the 18th Century!"

A true-to-life film about a famous stagecoach robbery in 1796. A convoy of the Post Lyonnais, en route to Napoleon's army in Italy, is robbed of 7 million francs by a group of bandits. The group's leader, André Dubosc, and his mates manage to escape the police. Just after the robbery, Joseph Lesurques, who looks very much like Dubosc, walks near the scene of the crime. Since Dubosc is known to the police, Joseph is arrested and sentenced by the court to the guillotine.
