Kytice plot
The film tells seven stories written by Karel Jaromír Erben in 1853. These apparently unrelated stories are fused together by the Czech folklore that lies behind them. Kytice is the connecting part to the various segments of the film. In "Vodnik" a water spirit kidnaps a girl. Part 3 “Svatebni Kosile” tells of a young woman who grieves and prays for her betrothed who is miles away. In the fourth part "Polednice" a mother invokes the legendary afternoon witch as a threat to her child. However, she does not know what consequences this could have. “Zlatny Kolovrat” is about how a criminal stepsister tries to marry a king instead of Dora. “Dcerina Kletba” depicts the murder of a child by the daughter of an old woman. “Stedery Den” depicts the fortunes of Hannah and Mary, who both have a habit of staring into the lake to see what the future holds for them.
