Koputus plot
Sisters Maria and Matilda return to the parental home with their brother Mikko. Years earlier, their parents are believed to have been murdered. The trio prepares everything to put the property up for sale, but comes into contact with evil.

Directing duo Joonas Pajunen and Max Seeck have a reasonable talent for creating atmosphere, which means that The Knocking does not look bad at all visually. The conceptual ideas towards the end are also nicely conceived and fit almost perfectly into the depressing impression that is created. Less is the extremely slow pace and the uninteresting main characters, which makes the relatively heavy content even more weighty in the wrong way. The first 45 minutes are more or less interchangeable and will not be memorable, but fortunately the pressure increases slightly as the finale progresses. The ending is even particularly strong and the opening is strikingly ominous, but Pajunen and Seeck miss too many opportunities for a passing grade.
