Kings of the Evening plot

Homer Hobbs, just home from two years in prison, learns that life outside can be harder than working in chains in a chain gang. He ends up with four other men in a town with no prospects. Together they try to make ends meet, but Sunday is the most exciting day of the week. Then they pool their few cents and hold a competition. Whoever wins gets the pot and gets to be just as lucky: the king of the evening.
