"MEN IN THE MAKING But what kind of men grow out of the squalor of the tenements...from the sordid back alleys of the slums?"
The girlfriend (Helen Mack) of a poor young man (Lew Ayres) leaves her boyfriend for a mobster, who has the money and power she desires. He has never had that so far. Determined to make a success of himself after all -- and to prove she's wrong -- he starts a newspaper distribution company that soon grows into the largest in town. But things eventually turn out differently than he had envisioned.
