Kasper in de Onderwereld plot

Kasper Bertheim, a young concert pianist, is being nursed as a mentally ill person in Geel. The disturbance of his mental balance has been caused by a devastating love drama. One day, upon seeing a funeral, Kasper remembers his great love. He believes that she now resides in the underworld and decides to look for her there. He flees his foster family and ends up in the big city. Driven by hunger and thirst, he ends up in a bar full of striking workers. The innkeeper provides him with shelter in an old barge, where a priest-worker also lives. The next day he begins his quest through the city. He meets all kinds of people who always bring him a little closer to his goal...
