Kanaria plot

After being rescued from the clutches of a cult that had cut him off from the outside world, 12-year-old Koichi is placed in child protection by the authorities. Angry, rebellious and defiant, he is refused a home by his grandfather, who recognizes in him the same characteristics as his estranged daughter, who is also a member of the cult. The grandfather does take in his younger sister Asako while Koichi remains under the guardianship of child protection. His father has passed away some time ago and Koichi decides to escape from the shelter to claim his sister and return to a utopian past in which the family was still intact. While on the run, he encounters a peer Yuki, who also comes from a broken family. Yuki decides to go on his quest. During their journey, Koichi's aggressive and strange behavior begins to drive Yuki away from him. He is unable to break free of the religious dogma that has been harshly taught to him by the cult.
