Jirai wo Fundara Sayônara plot

Biographical film about the Japanese war photographer Taizo Ichinose (Tadanobu Asano). His wish was to become a successful war photographer whose photos made the front page of the New York Times, etc. He becomes more and more obsessed with taking a picture of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, which is currently being held by the Khmer Rouge. When he starts he does this only to achieve the above, but gradually it becomes an end in itself.
