A laundress has worked for years as a slave for a Jewish family. Now her employer asks her to take her young daughter to safety in the countryside. Now the roles are reversed and after tearing out her former employer, she leaves for the countryside with her child. When the train stops running, they have to continue on a cathartic journey on foot.
