The French poet, thief and vagabond François Villon never knew his mother. He grew up under the care of one Guillaume de Villon. As soon as François is old enough to realize his loss, he decides to live a vibrant life as compensation. He plunges from one drinking session to the next, from the pubs of the Paris Quartier Latin to the court of the Duke of Orléans. In the meantime, he is studying. That is to say: every now and then he comes close to a lecture bench. He writes poems, lies, cheats and is always passionately in love. But despite his lavish lifestyle, he still misses his mother every second and continues to search tirelessly for her.
