Jane Eyre plot

Jane Eyre is left as a poverty-stricken orphan at the age of 14 and is subsequently adopted by her uncle, who has ample means to care for her and who also loves her dearly. However, her uncle's family considers her an intruder and does everything they can to prevent her from becoming a full member of their family, but she receives a measure of kindness and attention during his lifetime. When he dies, he leaves her without a friend in the world. His unfeeling widow then sends her to a poorly run orphanage.
