Isle of Escape plot
On an island in the Pacific, Stella runs her mother's hotel, who is constantly intoxicated by booze smuggled by her husband Shane, the island's chief trader and de facto dictator. One day, Dave Wade, exhausted by the heat, ends up on the shore near Stella's hotel. Dave reveals that he escaped from a nearby island with cannibals. Stella lets Dave take care of Manua and Loru by her servants. Shane, whom Stella may be married to but has never lived with in the same house, orders Dave to be taken to his house. Shane's true intention is to steal Dave's gold. During a drinking orgy, Shane steals the gold and provokes a fight, after which Stella comes to Dave's aid.
