Irokoishi plot

Based on a comic strip. An illegitimate child, Kikunosuke is raised by Tatsukichi, the female manager of a traditional Japanese restaurant. She teaches him to play the instrument shamisen with a strict hand and with strict morals. But at eighteen he becomes a 'man' with the geisha Botan. He then breaks free and becomes a male geisha himself.
