In the Lake of the Woods plot

John Waylan (Peter Strauss) is a candidate for senatorship when he is charged with war crimes in Vietnam at the end of his campaign. The charges not only kill his career, but also his relationship with his wife Kathy (Kathleen Quinlan) suffers. In an attempt to save the latter, the two decide to move into an abandoned cabin in the woods. However, one morning Kathy appears to have disappeared without a trace.
