Due to an emotional handicap, the gifted singer Lucionao Tajoli leads the life of an outsider. As a radio singer he makes a flying career, but because of his fear of the public he never performs in public. Everyone knows Tajoli, but nobody knows what he looks like. Not even the young Maria, with whom Luciano occasionally meets under a different name. Little does she know that she is dealing with the famous singer, whose voice she thinks is so beautiful. When Maria is willing to become his wife, Luciano must reveal his secret.
