Il N'y A Pas de Fumée sans Feu plot

A left-wing politician stands as a candidate in the municipal elections, and has to take on the right-wing and corrupt mayor. His right hand devises a counter maneuver by distributing a trick photo, in which the opponent's wife apparently participates in an orgy. Forgery cannot be proven, the real participants in the photo refuse to testify for fear for their own reputation, so that the husband himself begins to doubt his wife.
