I'll Be Home for Christmas plot

The hospital of a small municipality is threatened with closure if a new chief physician is not appointed soon. Mayor Sarah (Ann Jillian) calls on Michael (Robert Hays), a famous doctor who once lived in the town and then had a romance with her. She almost gets him, but he backs out at the last minute. This appears to have to do with the death of his wife, something he has never been able to deal with.
