"TRAPPED BY LOVE IN THE MAD MAELSTROM OF WAR!"
During the First World War, a town at the front is in the hands of the Russians one day and in the hands of the Austrians again the next. It goes on and on and the residents get used to it. One day, Ann Warschaska arrives, bent on revenge for her sister's suicide. Her sister committed suicide after an Austrian officer cheated on her. All Ann knows about the officer is his room number at a hotel. She goes to work as a chambermaid in the hotel and in the room in question she finds Lieutenant Nemassey. Ann thinks he must be the cause of her sister's death.
