Home Before Dark plot

12-year-old Nora lives with her emotionally unstable mother Dolores. When her mother tries to commit suicide, she moves to her aunt Rose. Her aunt's situation isn't much better, and Nora makes the difficult choice to return home to help her father Martin raise her younger siblings.
