Hokushin Naname ni Sasu Tokoro plot
Based on a true story, the film revolves around the 2001 centenary of the Number Seven High School baseball club in Kagoshima. Number Seven was the elite school before World War II, where only boys seven years old were groomed under Spartan conditions to later become leading figures in Japanese society. Sports were one of the most important parts of the school year, with the annual baseball game against rival Number Five High School from Kumamoto being the highlight. The players who eventually went to war as soldiers, including star pitcher Katsuya Ueda (Koji Wada), have their own reason for remembering the club: many teammates never came back! When Ueda is asked to attend the centenary, he refuses, to the dismay of his enthusiastic club mates. His clubmates are stunned. How can they hold their reunion without their most respected member?
