Hitchin' Posts plot

Jefferson Todd and Louis Castiga are brothers-in-law. The two come to blows on a steamboat across the Mississippi when Todd discovers Castiga's presence there with a woman who takes the place of his wife, Todd's sister. Todd, a Southern gentleman whose fortune was depleted during the Civil War, tries to rebuild his fortune by gambling on the riverboats that frequent the great river.
