Hisshiken Torisashi plot
In the fictional prefecture of Unasaka, the mistress of a powerful daimyo abuses her political influence. Kanemi Sanzaemon (Etsushi Toyokawa), a skilled swordsman, decides to kill her for this reason. This leads to a violent confrontation in which Sanzaemon uses the special "bird catching" sword technique. Meanwhile, his indirect cousin Satoo (Chizuru Ikewaki) is secretly in love with him.
