His Tiger Wife plot
Henri works at the Folies Bergère and has a role, dressed as a maharaja in a Hindu scene. While riding an elephant, he sketches the profile of the beautiful Tiger Lady, who sits in the audience every night with three admirers. His posture reveals his hopelessness in love with her. She is known as the Tiger Lady because of her passion for tigers, and at every evening performance, she pays no attention until the tiger act comes on. The other cast members see Henri's love for the lady, and the stage manager then forges a letter from her to Henri.
