Lou Helm (Lou Bandy) is a stand worker on the Nieuwmarkt. Revuester Anita Mara (Fien de la Mar) and her impresario Bolino are one day at his stand. According to Anita, there is an artist in Lou and she makes a bet about this with her impresario. Lou will act as a stand worker in her revue. Success goes to his head and he forgets Annie, his girlfriend. When Lou learns it was all just a bet, he takes revenge.
