Herrn Josefs Letzte Liebe plot

Josef Redlich has been the faithful servant of Mr. Albert Türkheim for almost fifty years, who has been living with his bossy, unmarried sister Gusti since the death of his wife. Gusti, however, does not like Josef very much, especially when one day he secretly brings a stray dog to the estate. The two become inseparable friends. When the dog is discovered one day, Gusti demands that it be taken away immediately. This breaks old Jozef's heart so much that he takes drastic measures.
