Heart o' the Hills plot
Mavis lives in the mountains of Kentucky with her widowed mother Martha Hawn. Near them lives her boyfriend Jason Honeycutt, along with his evil stepfather Steve. Mavis' father has been murdered and Mavis is still trying to find out who did it because she wants revenge. Steve Honeycutt is courting widow Martha because he is after her land, where it is said that a coal mine will be built. Businessman Morton Sanders, who intended to buy the land for coal mining, learns of Steve's plan and sends a band of guards to him. When Sanders himself is murdered, Mavis is blamed for it, due to unfortunate circumstances.
