Hashi no nai Kawa 2 plot

Koji graduated with excellent grades, but is only a shoemaker in his village of Komori, which consists of people from a discriminated minority of 'unclean people'. The people of Komori cannot marry whomever they want and cannot get a job. Koji's brother Seitaro does have a job in Osaka, but when his boss discovers that his daughter and Seitaro have wedding plans, he fires Seitaro, cuts off his daughter's hair, and forbids them to see each other again. This and a shortage of rice lead to an uprising in the village.
