"Before the Rodney King incident... Lenell Geter had a run in with the justice... Texas style."

The story of 24-year-old Lenell Geter (Dorian Harewood), a black Dallas technician who was sentenced to life in prison in 1982 for armed robbery of a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, which he had not committed. Because he had great faith in the justice system, he thought he would eventually be released. But he spent 18 months in jail until an NAACP attorney was appointed to handle his case.
