Good One plot
Seventeen-year-old Sam heads to the Catskill Mountains with her father for the weekend. A good and stubborn friend of her father joins the group. During the journey, the egos of the men clash and seem to be at war with each other. This has a big impact on Sam.

Beautiful and strong drama. The story is simple and seems to be about nothing. But despite the fact that little happens, a lot happens. Really very well done. You keep thinking about it and see connections when you play the film again in your head afterwards. The strong acting also contributes to the level of the film. Visually fitting simple with a simplistic soundtrack. Little gem. 4.5

Fine relaxing hiking arthouse. Although it does not go entirely smoothly. Not to an extreme degree, but it is in him in those small annoyances. That makes the film fascinating because you feel that there are underlying tensions. Normal things that are also human when you are stuck with each other for a few days and are dependent on each other given the circumstances.
If you go into the woods for a multi-day trip, you have to be prepared. And that is not entirely the case with that friend. I would have made the tensions more intense, but India Donaldson actually does a good job this way. It does not have to be obvious all the time. Of course, you lose a large part of the film audience who will find this an unusually boring film.
Less is more! Nice setting (of course) and also fine acting. Enjoyed it!

Good One is a film that has little to offer narratively and really focuses on the dialogues of the protagonists. Through sublime acting it makes this film definitely worth watching. Whether I really got excited, I don't think so.
