Golem, le Jardin Pétrifié plot
Danny Cornish, a sort of stateless man who organizes art exhibitions, is called from Tel Aviv to Paris because his great-uncle has died. He died in Birodidzjan, an autonomous Jewish zone in Russia, leaving him a valuable art collection. Also included is a hand of a large sculpture of a golem. The will instructs Danny to find the rest of the sculpture and he leaves for Moscow, even though he doesn't speak a word of Russian. An arduous journey through Moscow, St. Petersburg and Siberia ensues, in which he is confronted by many taxi drivers, hotel clerks and bureaucrats.
