Glücksritter plot

In 1946 the young journalist Alexander Haupt (Paul Hubschmid) founded a critical magazine. Ten years later, he owns a prominent publishing house. When one of his journalists wants to make an article about a corruption scandal involving a purchase of weapons for the German army, Haupt is forced to refuse publication; After all, due to financial difficulties, he is dependent on the influential owner of the printing house, who has a Nazi past and is not interested in such critical pieces.
