Gli Innocenti Pagano plot

Adriana Sereni, the mistress of a wealthy landowner, Giovanni, lives on his estate with her five-year-old daughter. Then she meets a handsome stranger, Stefano Rella, who lost his wife and daughter in the war and was a friend of Adriana's lover. Love blossoms but then problems arise: Adriana almost loses her child and Giovanni is murdered by one of his servants. Eventually Stefano marries Adriana and becomes a second father to her child.
