"The Fearless-Yet Tender- Story of a Modern Mother!"
Belinda Warren has an affair with Robert Melford, a British aristocrat, who feels tied to his invalid wife Rosamond, despite his affection for Belinda. Unable to continue this affair, Belinda goes to Italy to visit her father, but the latter suddenly dies of a heart attack, leaving her penniless. She returns to England and moves in with her unsympathetic aunt Esther Warren, where she gives birth to a child of Robert. With the help of her friend, author Edward "Tubbs" Barrow, Belinda gives the baby to the Melfords. Dejected, she leaves for the United States, where she meets Jim Baker, a successful American businessman. He falls in love with her and they get married, although she hasn't told him about her past...
